Wow, it's been a while. Sorry LJ, tumblr has taken over. Also sorry to friends who still update and I haven't commented. I need to catch up.
So, uh. Things to talk about. Things to talk about...
As far as life goes, I've been in a standstill. It was a really difficult year full of stress, depression, and more stress- so I haven't done much of anything. I just recently started ever-so-slowly picking up the pieces and trying to actually do things. I've gotten some cute little gigs for some audioplays, and I've gotten into making custom My Little ponies, which is actually really fun (and makes some nice cash- thanks, eBay).
Cosplay had almost stopped completely for me this year. I debuted Black Vow Miku at ACen, but it was mostly done right before Ohayo. I did a couple silly simple ones (Jonny Quest, Hank, and Applejack) but as far as actual construction, I've done basically nothing. But that's another thing I hope to pick up on soon. There are a couple costumes that keep getting put off in order to finish costumes for groups, I'm hoping to finally go back and work on those. Apollo, Junpei, and Rachel specifically.
Also working on organizing/getting rid of a lot of my junk, as I tend to hoard. Feeling much less cluttered and more up for working on things as that comes along~
So long story short, life sucks, but I'm working on making it better. It's a tough but rewarding climb.

Wow, it's been a while!
Not much happening outside of cons, really. Still looking for a new apartment, need to get out of this dump!ACen was a blast, and as usual, it was because of all the super amazing friends I have. Thank you everyone. <3 Debuted Black Vow Miku and had a great shoot with Sarah, Katie, Amanda, and Nella. Then had a fun party with the Otaqueens, though it was sadly cut short; we were too loud so we got kicked out of the room (which was a huge bummer because they didn't even give us a warning, just an instant shut down), but it was fun while it lasted. I zombied up for Liz, who had a Plants Vs. Zombies cosplay, as well as wore Tori's Amalthea costume briefly (Wilma was Schmendrick, but Tori was wearing Dr. Who so I put it on for a bit), and Wilma's Crono costume (I think she just didn't feel like putting it on when Liz and Tori put on their CT costumes?). Fun fun :D ACen was especially great for Walker. He got to meet Michael Sinterniklaas (voice of Dean Venture), drew him up a doodle, and Michael loved it so much he asked Walker to draw Dean dressed up from Dr. Who. Walker happily did so and Michael flipped out at the drawing and got a picture with Walker holding it up for him. It pretty much made Walker's weekend, and rekindled Walker into recording voice work and music. So I'm really glad he came. Colossalcon was also amazing, and even though it hurt my wallet, I'm glad I was able to go. Crystina and Amy booked three adjoining rooms- Nick, Alex, Avi and Ed in one room, Crystina, Amy, Di, and myself in the middle, and Sewing Is Half The Battle and Amy's sister in the other. The suite was lovely and it was so much fun hanging out with such a large group. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped out Di by voting for her video on the facebook contest. She won! She won a trip to D*C and she offered to take me with her. :D I've never been to D*C and it looks like a fantastic time, so I'm excited. Thank you again, all! <3

I've been meaning to type this up for a little while now, but kept forgetting, so yeah.
Anyway, 2010.
The good:
Most of my best moments have been with friends at conventions. I always have an amazing time with you all!<3 I met many new great people this year. I'm so bummed I live so far from everyone!
Di came to visit on a few occasions, as well as Avi and Ed a couple weekends ago. I love cons but it's also nice to have friends around when not at one.
I also got a call from Wilma a while back- I get to be a bridesmaid next year! <3 I'm so happy for you and Brandon, Wilma. :D
The bad:
The landlord bullshit. It was months of pain and stress and I'm so glad it's over, and especially glad his lying to the Judge failed and I still have a roof until next August. All's well that ends well I suppose.
Also, Casey's sudden illness was terrifying. I'm so glad she's a little fighter a was able to pull through. Duo was a scare as well but thankfully it wasn't too bad and all I need to do it feed her a special diet.
I debuted 10 costumes this year, although most of them are super simple. :>
I think Ayla was the hardest. That damn fur. BAH.
I wish I had worked more with audio this year. Very early this year I had a project near completion (only lyrics needed to be recorded, the song was finished) and my computer got infected and I lost it all. It took me forever to get the song the way I wanted it so I was really turned off by the idea of doing it again. But Walker's been working on some stuff that we're going to do together and I have some things in planning so that's at least something. I'm going to try to do more with this next year.
I also wish I had drawn more. I at least did a little and I've started sketching again recently. We'll see how long that lasts.
So overall the year was alright, bad doors closed and good doors are still open. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people, thank you all. <3<3

Thankfully, it seems like Duo'll be fine. They said she has a bladder infection that made little crystals that were cutting her, which caused the bloody urine. I've got some special food for her as well as some liquid medication that I need to put on her gums.
So, yeah. She'll be okay. :)

Well, Casey's all better, but now Duo is spending the night at the vet. :(
Leslie informed me that Duo was peeing some blood, so I made an appointment today. She was unable to pee for the vet so I had to leave her there for the night. It saddens me to leave her but hopefully they'll find out what's up and the vet said she'd call me tomorrow morning.

Sorry I've been a little inactive, the past couple weeks have been a blur, so I'll give a summary:
-Kollisioncon was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed Avi's panel, Silent Hill jamming with Ed and Stephen, hanging out with Matt Mercer, chatting and shooting with Amanda and Nella, and the usual shenanigans. :> Pics to come~
-Got back from sitting in the Artist Alley at MFF, made about $450 this year. Not quite as much as last year, but I still cleared what I spent to get there so I'm happy~ (However I caught the con plague when I was there so boo.)
- Legal battles with the landlord are over. We went to court for the back rent vs. undone repairs, and though TECHNICALLY we lost, it was hardly the victory he wanted. He tried suing us for $5000 ($3000 back rent (we did NOT owe that much) and $2000 in damages to the building, that he tried to claim we did, even though my sister took photos of the damages when she moved in. In 2005. Ahaha.
He had no proof of anything, though neither did we on our counter-claim (it's kind of hard to prove loss of wages when Walker's a freelance artist who works from home). John won $1500, and only because we were honest in saying that yes, we (and by we, I actually mean Walker) owed him that. But he's only going to get, like, a few bucks a month, so haha (I'm guessing my wages will be garnished, but I only make about $10 over the minimum for garnishment to apply so he'll get his money so incredibly slowly). And Walker continues to be my bitch for a while. Thankfully, we were able to get Leslie off the hook, since she's only on the new lease, and even though John first claimed we owed for the first month of the new lease, we were able to convince the judge that we did in fact pay that month.
One of John's witnesses (a handyman who has been over a couple times) tried to claim that we denied him entry to the building on several occasions, when we only ever did that once, and it was only to John. He was obviously a friend of John's so... I don't fucking know. Thankfully none of it mattered.
So, even though we "lost" we all feel pretty good and now we don't have to deal with this anymore. Leslie and I celebrated afterwards by going to see Harry Potter. :3

Got a haircut yesterday, and dyed it today! I've been wanting to for so long and was finally able to. The cut is similar to what I usually get, but I asked that they leave the bangs a little longer for Luka's ex (It'll be a bit poofier when blowdried) and Nick for Youma~
I'm sorry Lyse. It's time to say goodbye and just be friends.

Things in general are still crappy around here, but they're getting better, especially with Casey. A few days ago, I started force feeding her three times a day instead of twice a day and she was able to keep it down just fine. I came home from my haircut with some pizza, and set it down on the bed for a moment. She came up to investigate, and actually started to lick a piece! I was so excited to see her interested in food so I quickly rushed off to grab a plate and put some wet cat food on it. She then licked her food for a bit before actually taking a couple bites! They were tiny tiny bites of course, but that's still a great improvement. So I'm going to basically make judgement calls day by day on whether to feed her twice or three times, depending on how much she eats on her own. Yayyy~

So I think I've got my cosplay list finally figured out for Youma. Cybil and Ramona were definite, but I couldn't quite decide what else until recently. I'm going to pack Schala (and hopefully finally get some photos with Di's Janus) and I'm working on Nick (L4D2) to match Di's Ellis. I told her I would and I finally found a white jacket that looks pretty accurate and fits me to dirty up.
I also watched this Vocaloid video after seeing this version of Luka on Lyse's cosplay meme, and talked to her about if she needed/wanted the guy (who has been dubbed 'swoosh hair guy'). It's so simple and Michael doesn't want to do it, so I get to. XD
So I think it'll be like this?
Friday - EDIT: Dr. Who shoot with Tara's pieces is 10 AM, so that's first. THEN Nick or Schala during the day, depending on which Di would like to wear, Cybil at night for group/shoot
Saturday - Nick or Schala, whichever I didn't wear Friday, Swoosh hair guy Luka's ex whenever Lyse would like to wear Luka
Sunday - Ramona, I'd like to wear something comfy on the last day that I could sit in the car in, for at least part of the trip home. I suppose Nick would also quality for Sunday too. I dunno.
The Silent Hill shoot and the Dr. Who shoot are the only things that's concrete, everything else depends on other folks~
Also, there's still a bit of space in my room if anyone needs it. Sadly Korin can't go now. ;_; We'll miss you!

So, is anyone going to Kollisioncon? I'd like to go, mainly for Avi's Silent Hill panel. Di and I are talking about getting a room together, is there anyone that would possibly like to join us?
I'm also poking around for local people to carpool with, because I'd rather not drive up alone. Heavy traffic terrifies me.

So, Casey continues to improve, I'm so glad.
For one, today I saw her bathing herself. For two, I woke up later to water splashing. I looked down, and her water bowl looked fine, so I just sort of shrugged it off. As I was going back to sleep, Casey actually managed to jump up onto the bed! It was a shaky jump and she had to climb her way up, but just the fact that she was able to do that was amazing. I then realized that the splashing must have been her trying to jump up, failing, and hitting her bowl. So I curled up with a partially wet Casey for a bit. <3
Leslie has a vet tech friend who suggested that Casey may have Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (aka Fatty Liver Disease), and I read up a bit on it, and the treatment is what I've been doing. Since she has been getting better, I think (and hope) that her friend is right.
I talked to the vet today about these improvements, and she sounded as happy as I felt about it. So I went in and got some refills on Casey's meds to keep up this treatment.
And with that I leave you a couple pics of Casey. These were before she got sick so she had a bit more weight, though she's still quite tiny~

Thank you for the previous comments about Casey, and now, for a good update~
I came home from work and made myself some food, sat down, and put on some TV on the computer. I looked over and Casey had actually gotten up and was walking around the room. It was great to see her exploring, and when she was done she walked over and meowed at me. It was her 'I want attention' meow, so I carefully picked her up and set her in my lap for a while. I eventually wanted to nap so I curled up on the bed and brought her with me, and instead of hopping off and going into her little closet bed, she curled up with me. ;_; I was so happy that she was acting a bit more like her usual self. She was still slow, but this was still a good sign. Walker also said that it seemed like her posture was better.
I'm trying to not let me get my hopes too far up, but I thought this was fantastic and wanted to share it~

So Casey has been sort of at a standstill. Her stats dropped to normal and she's again keeping her food down, but she lost another ounce of weight, her liver is still having problems, and she still won't eat on her own. I took her back in to the vet today, and she's basically out of ideas. She recommended a specialty center in Cedar Rapids, but just to get in for an exam costs, at minimum, about $120.
I'm at such a loss. I desperately want to see Casey get better, but at the same time, if they did find the problem, how much would that treatment cost? I hate being so broke, everything so far has already cost me about $220 and my mom about $300 (which I can't thank her enough for). I called the specialist and they don't do payment plans. I just...ugh. I don't know.
I think my plan is to continue with the IV/medicine/force feeding for a few more days- it's at least done her SOME good, and I'm just sort of hoping that maybe Casey's simply taking it in slower than most cats. If she seems to get any better then I'd call the vet back and talk to her about it. If not, then I will call the specialist and overdraw my account. If they can't find out the problem quickly, then... it may just be time to put Casey to sleep. That thought never fails to start me crying, but maybe it's what will be best. I just pray the meds are helping her with pain, which I think they are, since she tends to be very vocal about any discomfort, and I don't think she's so weak that she doesn't want to speak. I hope that's true and not just something I've made up to make myself feel better.
No matter what happens, I just wanted to thank everyone for their support. It means a lot to me.

So Youma. Almost here. I'm excited.
I still haven't decided on everything I'm bringing. Cybil and Ramona for sure, but I think I may drop Apollo if Lyse decides not to bring Ema (we'll get these together someday, Lyse!). There's still work that needs to be done with him and I may just work on it later. I dunno.
Also thinking about packing Schala and maybe one more thing that's comfy. Maybe Trent or Quatre?
What's everyone up to for the con? Besides the Shattered Memories shoot, I don't have any concrete plans.
Kori - I should get a photo to you this weekend of your Venus chain.
Di - I'll dink around with an Interstella buckle for you this weekend too.

So Casey recently got sick. So sick in such a short amount of time that I was terrified she wasn't going to make it to the vet appointment I was able to get her.
A few days before I got her to the vet, she stopped jumping up to her favorite sleeping spot. She started sleeping behind my bed instead, and I first sort of figured she started liking it back there better, because she's slept there before on occasion. But then she couldn't jump up to her little box, which was on my dresser so the other cats don't use it (Casey doesn't like the other cats, to those who don't know, so she sort of has her own little room in my closet.). Then on Friday, she stopped eating and was incredibly weak. She was also constantly using her litter box (that was now on the floor and we just didn't let other cats in) and one time she didn't even make it to the box in time. So I called my parents and asked if they could help. I found a place that takes Care Credit and was lucky to get an appointment on Saturday. The vet was very sweet and did and exam and some bloodwork for Casey. Casey was jaundice- her liver was inflamed.
It's times like this that make me mad at myself that I don't have any savings. I live paycheck to paycheck, but even $10 a month adds up. We were so worried that we wouldn't be able to afford any medication, my mom and I are both broke until this coming Thursday/Friday and only had $257 available on her Care Credit card. We talked to the vet and the total for everything came up to $254. Phew.
So twice a day, I have to stick a needle into Casey and start an IV drip, which is a rather scary procedure for me (and of course, cold and annoying for her). She also has to swallow a pill once a day, but that's much easier.
But she seems to be doing better. She's still not really eating, but the IV drip is partially for that. She's definitely got more energy- now I have to have someone holding her down while I insert the needle. So that's good.
So, yeah. scary weekend, but I think she'll be okay.
(Unrelated- I just wanted to thank everyone for their support on my last few posts about my retarded landlord. <3)

Today, Justice was served.
The Judge ruled in our favor- Erin (our lawyer) proved that the money we gave him was for September, which was the only thing he could evict for. John first tried to claim he only received $400, but then BAM! Erin handed him and the Judge photocopies of both checks that John received. Then John tried to claim that we paid the second check a day after the deadline of the notice (which is bogus) but the Judge was just was like, 'But you took it anyway.' John's court behavior is terrible- he doesn't speak very clearly and he even tried to cut the Judge off a couple times. I love this quick convo between him and the Judge:
'Have you consulted a lawyer about this?'
'...no.'
'Maybe you should do that in the future.'
And the nice little kicker, today's hearing costs have to be paid by John.
And so, John can still sue for the remaining money that we owe him, and we can counter for the undone repairs, but even if John won that, we wouldn't have to leave. So it's nice to KNOW that I've got a roof, at least until next August.
MAN I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time.

A note. Not an eviction notice, but instead just a not saying his coming over for repairs. So that's something.
Walker went to see a lawyer today, and they said if John was to post a 3-day eviction notice, all we would have to do is cover the remaining month's rent in order to stay. They also gave Walker some law reading material and talked about some other things.
We don't have the boot just yet, so yay.
Unrelatedly, have a neat creepy pasta that Walker showed me. Its about an hour investment, but for the most part, its pretty well done.
